The Judges and Magistrates
 of the Denver Juvenile Court
The Denver Juvenile Court was a single-judge court until 1964.  That year the Legislature increased it to two judges.  A third judge was added in 1973.  The judges who have served the court since 1940 are:

Philip B. Gilliam   1940 to 1973
H. Ted Rubin 1965 to 1971
John Evans 1971 to 1973
Morris E. Cole 1974 to 1989
Orrelle R. Weeks 1973 to present
Jon L. Lawritson 1973 to 1980
Dana U. Wakefield 1980 to present
David E. Ramirez 1989 to 1998
Karen M. Ashby 1998 to present

 The Magistrates were originally called Referees, then Commissioners, and now Magistrates.  The Magistrates serve at the pleasure of the Presiding Judge.  Those who served in recent memory are:
